Your home from home for your special day

The Colloquy is a beautifully restored 18th century country home (with ETB Gold Star status) that sits proudly on the Whittern Estate. If you are looking for a rural retreat to call home for your big day but small wedding, you have found the perfect venue. Catering only for intimate weddings, The Colloquy comes with exclusive use of the house and grounds and can sleep and entertain a maximum of 54 guests (across our other guest accomodation), so your celebrations can last beyond or prior to the wedding day itself. Why not have a family dinner the night before or a relaxed Sunday roast to kick back and take time with family and friends?

With an acre of walled garden, you can make your day unique, from barbecue picnic to formal dinner. The Colloquy provides a luxury canvas upon which to create your dream day. With an excellent black book of caterers, entertainers and wedding planners, we can assist you in creating a unique and thoughtful event to share with those you love.

For larger weddings, we can offer the Sherriffs where you can erect a marquee on the expansive lawns and have a party of up to 120 guests. As this property is more isolated you can have louder music and noise and we can help you with marquee companies and parking.  Again our little black book will come in handy to help you plan your special day.

The Colloquy is just fabulous. We loved the swimming pool, the 18th-century clock tower and the walled landscaped gardens – so much so, that it was almost a struggle to make it to Hay itself- Bryony Gordon- The Telegraph
