Food Festivals

The month of May kick-starts my favourite season… food festival season! There’s nothing better than sampling the county’s finest produce. So being the foodie that I am, I’ve put together a guide for the top local foodie spots throughout summer ‘17.

Monmouth Food Festival - 20th-21st May
Located just over the Welsh border, at the beautiful Caldicot Castle. You’ll find the very best chefs and producers in Monmouthshire and the surrounded counties, showcasing their signature produce and dishes. Also, they’re calling all chocoholics to a demo with Jules James Master Chocolatier at 2:30, you’ll know where to find me...

Great Malvern Food Festival - 29th May
It seems the Malvern Hills is a nostalgic place for many us in Herefordshire. Spring walks & picnic stops whilst overlooking the beautiful county, is an activity that for years, has been enjoyed by many. Not yet got plans for the late May bank holiday? Spend it here!

Cheltenham Food and Drink Festival - 9th-11th June
Join your friends & family and celebrate the height of summer in the beautiful town of Cheltenham. Enjoy a fresh selection of food & learn the history of the wine you’re sipping, whilst dancing the night away to live music!

Hereford Food Festival - 1st-2nd July
Debuting this year, Big Bull Events brings us The Hereford Food Festival, based at the Racecourse north of Hereford. The event is looking to be one of the biggest this summer and I’d definitely say it’s worth a look!

The Festival - Hereford Indie Food - 26th-27th August
Hereford Indie Food are coming back for seconds this year, after the success of their festival debut last year. Enjoy a night of food and festivities over the August bank holiday!

Ludlow Food Festival - 8th-10th September
If you’re only going to attend a couple of food festivals, make sure this is one of them! Held inside beautiful Ludlow castle and known as the UK’s original food festival - there’s two reasons to visit already!

Abergavenny Food Festival - 16th-17th September
Spend the last few days of summer, at Abergavenny Food Festival! It offers a genuine market experience in the rural setting of the beautiful medieval market town.

It looks like I’m going to have a busy summer, hopefully I’ll see you there!
