Autumn Events in Herefordshire and beyond

As we enter the cooler months, we believe everything is beginning to wind down in preparation for the winter months. In Herefordshire and the surrounding counties, this is definitely not the case.

Autumn is the perfect time for a rural getaway; catching the last of the sunshine at the end of August and heading into September we see the leaves change their colours. In addition to this, this beautiful part of the country is home to some of the most well known and established food festivals.

Things to do in Herefordshire in June

June is a particularly lovely time of year to visit Herefordshire, where our meandering valleys and woodlands will be bursting with colour and rustling with wildlife. For those of you who are visiting the county this month, we also have a number of local events to keep you entertained. Have a read below for a few of our favourites.

Food Festivals

The month of May kick-starts my favourite season… food festival season! There’s nothing better than sampling the county’s finest produce. So being the foodie that I am, I’ve put together a guide for the top local foodie spots throughout summer ‘17.

Herefordshire's Hidden Treasures

Whether it’s a boutique restaurant tucked away down a cobbled street, a beautiful walking trail in the countryside, or a stunning landscape by the river, Herefordshire is full of many hidden treasures. If you’re visiting us this season, make sure you check them out.

King Street Kitchen
Every relaxing weekend away starts with brunch at an independent cafe. Enjoy their Little Hereford Madame, washed down with a Clipper organic tea. The Salted Caramel Brownie makes this little gem worth a visit too!

Summertime in Herefordshire

Herefordshire and its surrounding counties are always a pleasure in the summertime, whether you’re up on the hills, down in the woodlands or at one of the many fantastic attractions. Hopefully we’ll have lots of sunshine this summer to explore what this wonderful county has to offer. Here are some of my favourites

Happy Valentine's Day

The month of love is finally here, so I wanted to wish you all a very Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you’re single or spoken for, it’s always nice to remind your nearest and dearest just how much you love them.

Some people find it difficult to hunt down the perfect gift for their loved one, so we’re going to make it easy for you! Roses and chocolate are always well received, but they can be a little cliché. Instead, why not book a romantic trip to The Whittern Estate. We still have availability at some of our smaller luxury cottages on our 700-acre picturesque estate.

The Key to Happiness…

Welcome back and happy New Year to you all, we hope you had a magical Christmas and a fabulous New Year!

The festive season is beautiful and it’s wonderful to have time off celebrating with family and friends, but it can also be tiring. So, whilst you all settle back into reality and start to make your New Year’s Resolutions, think about this…

“The key to happiness, is spending your money on experiences rather than possessions.”

It’s true! Recent studies show that people that spend their money on experiences are much happier long-term.

Local Tipples for Your Herefordshire Party

Everybody knows that other than the company, the second most important element of a party is the drinks menu! So, if you’re staying at one of our party houses this Christmas, rather than stocking up before you head to Herefordshire, why not add some local tipples to your party instead!?

Herefordshire is home to many delicious drinks producers, from ciders and wines to liqueurs and fresh juices. Here are a few of our favourites…
