Autumn Staycations in Beautiful Herefordshire

Summer has finally come to a close and the daylight hours are beginning to fade, but there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to get just as much enjoyment out of autumn. In fact, we think it’s a great time to enjoy a few days away, especially in the beautiful Herefordshire countryside.

We still have availability at the estate through October half term, so why not pack your bags and escape for a few days with your loved ones? With over 800 acres to explore you can certainly blow away the cobwebs and enjoy the rural life for a while. If you want to explore further afield Herefordshire is bursting with things to do. Why not try:

Haugh Woods Butterfly Trail
The woodland covers nearly 850 acres, with over 600 species of butterflies living there. The trails are mainly made up of hard forest tracks, with gentle slopes, which should make easy going for you and your children, even if you have a pushchair. Take a picnic and enjoy, as you look out for various types of butterflies!

Court Farm and Leisure - close to Hereford and about 20 minutes from the estate
Pick your own delicious fresh fruit, enjoy an English cuppa in the tea room and dine in the picnic area with an adventure play area. Court Farm is also home to a Mountain board centre and a fishing lake, so there’s something for everyone!

Clearwell Caves - a little further afield, but worth the trip through the Wye Valley
A natural cave system that has been mined for 4,500 years! If you’re going as a group, you can also book a deep level exploration, where you’ll scramble, squeeze and climb deeper than everyone else. They even run events in the caves, including: watching films, theatrical events and even parties!

Have I tempted you enough? Well time to get organised and get booked up then, check our availability here.

Enjoy the calm before the Christmas storm, it will be here before we know it!
