White Heron is a great base for families wanting to explore Herefordshire and get away from city life. Time to get the kids off their devices and make memories! We often get asked by guests to suggest places to visit over the school holidays and so I've put together some of our top suggestions of things to do in Herefordshire this year! 

1. Oakerwood Leisure
From quad biking to climbing, Oakerwood is the ultimate outoor activity centre located just under a half an hours drive from us. There are a wide range of activities to take part in as families that are both fun and challenging. The professionally trained staff ensure your children are in safe hands - make sure you book in early over the holidays as they very popular!

3. Eastnor Castle 
We highly recommend a visit to this stunning castle located just outside of the quant town of Ledbury. With never-ending grounds and the castle itself to explore, your family will return tired and satisfied. Throughout the year, they also host various events including outdoor twilight cinemas and family fun days.

4. Canoeing on the river wye
Explore Herefordshire on water and hire a canoe. There are several points along the river where you are able to do this depending on where you want to finish up. They can be both guided or you can simply just hire a canoe and off you go!

5. Green Spider Climbing
Fairly new to Herefordshire, an indoor climbing centre has now opened. Suitable for 4+ year olds, each session is fully supervised and ofcourse lots of fun! A great day out to try something different, finishing off with coffee and cake at independent cafe in the city centre.
